I had a friend from overseas visiting at Christmas who had never been to London. So spent a lot of time in london doing tourist stuff and theatres etc. My impression was there are a lot of Russians, Americans and Indians. New Years Eve was Russians and Indians – the russians more couples and families but the indians seem to like big groups. Also London lot more chinese now with noodle soup places which never used to be there but very good and affordable. Quite a lot of Scandinavians too probably avoiding the winter. All these have money and welcomed with open arms.
But living in SW london i feel the mix has definitely changed in last couple of years and this is fairly affluent area but lots of housing association flats squeezed in approved by a disastrous one term tory council. Whilst i love where i live even some of my Indian neighbours, who are the educated wealthy types, are thinking of moving out as too many poor immigrants now and more social pressures.
Very funny – and sad.

That is an actual laugh out loud comment.
