Monday/Tuesday blog
I normally don’t use this blog to write about myself and my sad, little, boring life. But I’ll make an exception this time.
Nobody wants to hear the truth
I’ve spent a large part of my working life giving presentations and I enjoy public speaking. So I put together a shortish (20 minutes) presentation based on my book THERE IS NO CLIMATE CRISIS.
Given that the ludicrous, economically-suicidal policy of Net Zero is probably the most important political and economic policy of the last 50 or more years, I then approached organisations which often arrange speaking events like the Economic Research Council, Policy Exchange, the Institute for Economic Affairs and John Gordon’s Intelligence Squared offering to give a talk about the supposed Climate Crisis. Not only did none of these organisations accept my offer. They just ignored me not even bothering to send an answer. I also tried several Conservative MPs offering to give my talk to any interested MPs. Again, I was ignored.
I know I’m not a famous celeb. But I have had around 10 current affairs books published on a variety of subjects such as economics, business, politics, the European Union, charities, universities and most recently climate. So, I had expected that my offers to give a talk would at least be acknowledged even if there was no interest in hearing what I had to say. I hadn’t expected to be completely ignored. But if any reader has any experience of people working in politics, they’ll know that such people tend to be arrogant, self-regarding, convinced of their own superiority and contemptuous of ordinary people who are forced to pay their usually over-generous salaries.
The only reply I did get was from The Daily Sceptic. I had suggested to them that we organise an event for any interested MPs during which their environmental expert, Chris Morrison, and I would give brief presentations and then do a Q&A session. The Daily Sceptic replied that they weren’t interested.
I guess nobody is interested in being put face to face with the truth about the Climate Change scam.
Ludicrous, laughable, farcical etc etc
Slightly connected to that is this shortish (5 minutes) video in which Senator Kennedy (no relation to JFK) questions David Turk (United States Deputy Secretary of Energy) about how much Net Zero will cost American taxpayers and how much the USA implementing Net Zero will change the Earth’s temperature:
Enjoy:
I think there are two important issues raised by this video:
- None of the people trying to impose Net Zero have a clue as to the real cost nor about any influence this will actually have on climate
- No politician in Britain or Europe would even dare ask the kind of questions Senator Kennedy asks
A warning to South Korea – beware Net Zero
And finally, readers will know that my book THERE IS NO CLIMATE CRISIS has been translated into Korean by a university professor there:
I’ve even had two articles debunking the anthropogenic climate change cult translated into Korean and published in a South Korean newspaper. I could never have had such articles published in the Greta-worshipping climate-cult-promoting UK press. Moreover, I have tried several times to get interviewed on GB News and TalkTV but have been ignored
Anyway, I’ve just produced a shortish (5 minutes) video for this professor which he’ll be translating into Korean and using in South Korea to warn South Koreans not to repeat the disastrous Net Zero policies being implemented by the West.
Here’s the original English version of the video. It’s a pity nobody in Britain wants to hear this story:
No money in it whereas if you are on the government side then the rivers of cash flow. Although as you have identified there are a lot of snouts in the trough already all essentially lying for the government. So at least you have your credibility even if mainstream normies think you are a nutter – rather like the poor soul writing his letter from your earlier blog.
One thing that did occur to me in relation to the letter and the coronation. It was hard to spot somebody who wasn’t signed up to the wef agenda. Charles, William, Maudant, Welby, Rishi. If you asked the congregation would 100% agree – i expect so.
I just watched a documentary called Leaving California which has been made by Epoch Times. It tries to understand why so many middle income earners are leaving California. Basically high taxes, high levels immigration, crazy anti business bureaucracy, obsession with net zero and preferring to accept and rationalise high levels of crime because of race poverty etc etc.
The parallels with our society are very real. We are maybe a few years behind but essentially we are becoming california. When you listen to the film and hear the small business people talk about being attacked and fined by government for not following the rules, houses burning down due to environmental regulation and connected people in the charity sector earning huge salaries whilst not delivering then we are probably already there.
The liberal disease is going to destroy all these places that embrace the ideology. If you have had a good life then probably better to bunker down and pay as little tax as possible in the hope of starving the beast.
In the Middle Ages, Galileo was condemned a heretic for suggesting the world was not flat and orbited round the sun. Even those who could see the validity of his argument were afraid to speak up and defend him. Who didn’t fear the inquisition?
Who would have believed we’d find ourselves in the same position in 21st century? We might not have the inquisition (yet) but cancellation/no platforming is just as effective. Andrew Bridgen, J K Rowling and Katherine Stock to name but three. What’s worse is there’s a war in 3 fronts – climate change, transgenderism/sexualisation of school children and Covid vaccines and we’re currently losing on all of them.
My impression is GB News and Talk TV have decided the safest line to take is a neutral one. They don’t condemn net zero but neither do they praise it. They are clearly afraid of ofcom beating them up for spreading mis/disinformation (what IS the difference?) if they dare question the narrative. Look what happened to Mark Steyn. GB news has always struggled for revenue after “stop funding hate” (by which they mean “stop funding people who don’t agree with us”) told major companies not to advertise with them, GB News simply cannot afford to be fined by ofcom.
We will be proved right in the end but unfortunately that could take decades and our economy and way of life will be utterly destroyed by then.
Fortunately a few people want the truth and are able to search for it. But it would be interesting to know what percentage do not want to know the truth, and even more interesting to work out why, and whether it really matters if we are unable to influence governments, media and businesses profiting from alarmism.
Here you refer to climate alarmism, but it is just the same with everything. Of course, it is difficult to know just what is the truth, but I believe experts have a duty to explain complex issues in a way that they are understandable and especially to provide supporting evidence which is also clearly explained. Experts failed to do this with the pandemic and the vaccines.
There is no scientific evidence to support human caused climate change and also there is no empirical evidence which is very well demonstrated in your book. The correlation between temperature and carbon dioxide shows a poor correlation with temperature leading the carbon dioxide changes. What more proof is needed? I admire you for writing the book and for the work you are doing to promote it. The saga you describe today is quite shocking. It is reflected by what happened to Andrew Bridgen over his vaccine concerns.
Parliament does not want to debate anything and the same seems to be true of other organisations. When I see Farage and Rees-Mogg “debating” on net zero it is quite clear that neither of them know anything about science or the empirical evidence that does not support a climate crisis. They boast that GB News brings both sides of an issue, but neither side produces evidence to support their arguments. The fact that they have rejected you supports that and they never have experts like Ian Plimer on their shows. I saw a critical comment today about their continual claims to be the peoples’ channel but they are not, probably because they need advertising to survive. Mark Steyn had to go and Neil Oliver might be next.
In the video Kennedy is right in his questioning and we might expect anybody listening to any government to ask what is going to be achieved by spending money to fight the supposed crises. Questions are asked here about HS2, but why not climate change? Where Kennedy fails is that he keeps saying that he is in favour of being carbon neutral. So he must believe that we need to do something about it. It seems that people hold contradictory views – they believe climate alarmism and want to do something about it, but they don’t want to pay the price of the policies needed to achieve carbon neural emissions, or even reduce carbon in the atmosphere which some want. We could now be too far down this ridiculous path to reverse it.
Westerners are now so dumbed down they are unable to critically think, they are unable to learn the lessons of history or recognise patterns, Covid showed that folk are more concerned about researching a hotel for their holidays than what they stick into their veins. They wait to be told what to think, even of it means costing them in finances and freedom, they on the whole will comply because its easier. Part of me cant wait to hear them moan when they are locked int heir 15 minute prisons so I can say ‘told you so’.
Amongst most older people – neighbours, friends, middle-aged shop assistants at the supermarket checkouts with whom I am given to chatting when there’s no one waiting behind me – there is general scepticism of the “anthropogenic climate catastrophe” agenda which is being constantly thrust at us. Doubts about the jab are at the moment still rare I find, although someone did tell me the other day about a relative who has become poorly for no evident reason and was asked by a medical professional if he had been jabbed. Make of that what you will. Right now though, to do or say anything which categorizes you as a “climate denier” or an “anti-vaxxer” is to invite opprobrium from all politicians and mainstream media as well as almost all the indoctrinated young. As for speaking out honestly on the topic of “trans rights” – well, we know that merely asserting the irrefutable facts about the immutability of genes as related to sex can lead to the destruction of a career, even threats of violence. So for the moment all we can do is to say nothing, whilst silently holding to our opinions, until the truth emerges. As it will. It must, given time. How much time, who knows? Decades in the case of the faux vax. In other words until all the relicts of those killed and all those who were themselves injured have died off. Just think of the three to four decades it has taken for culpability to be acknowledged and compensation granted in respect of the recipients of Hepatitis infected blood. The idiocy of Net Zero may not take quite as long. Next winter, when there will probably be no financial assistance towards power bills, we are likely to see thousands dying from hypothermia, possibly accelerated by malnutrition caused by the rising cost of food. I wonder how much REAL discomfort and deprivation the majority of today’s hedonistic young are prepared to accept? So far, they’ve had it easy as regards the “net zero” agenda. Cosseted and cuddled at home by indulgent parents and at school by staff who dare not contradict or discipline the little darlings, they have yet to experience true deprivation. At “Uni” and in the workplace the immaturity of the young and their inability to withstand even an opinion with which they disagree apparently bring on total emotional collapse. Are these products of today’s parenting and educational establishments ready in any way to deal with cold, hunger, general deprivation? I think not. Trouble lies ahead when the true consequences of “net zero” become undeniable. It is we oldies who are far better prepared in fact, since many of us vividly recall past hard times and the coping strategies we learned and can practise again if necessary. We shan’t need to take to the streets in protest against cold and hunger. The young will do it for us. Incidentally, it is interesting to note that since personal tax thresholds have not been raised, the recent increases in the State pension have amounted almost to nothing for anyone who has an additional private pension, however small. We have been given it with one hand but had it taken away with the other, as evidenced in the revised Tax codes currently landing on doormats. In my case, now the fix on my power supply has finished, I shall be required to pay at least three times as much as previously. Overall, after paying the additional income tax as well, I have calculated I shall be around £10 a month better off. The monthly food bill has gone up by far more than that and continues to rise week on week. Thanks Rishi Sunak et al! Oh, and do enjoy your private heated swimming pool Prime Minister! My municipal pool, a swim in which a couple of times a week did a lot for arthritic joints, has had to close because the cost of heating the water has become untenable.
Speaking to my 30-something cleaner the other day, I said that perhaps wearing an extra layer indoors would help her heating bills. She looked at me in horror and said “this is the 21st century, we should be able to wear at T shirt at home all year round”. I imagine the Just Stop Oil mob have the same attitude. They want us to stop using oil but have absolutely no idea what the ramifications of that request would be.
Here is a video of MP Andrew Bridgen defending himself on GB News against a detractor. Notice how Fraser Myers does not produce a counter argument to anything that Bridgen brings up because there is none. He just moves on to something else that is easily countered. This is a good example of why the lapdogs avoid debate like a plague.
