weekend blog
Only the woke shall work?
On my Friday blog about some crazy woke woman claiming that men could get pregnant and possibly need abortions, one reader commented: “How do these people ever get an effing job…?”
I would like to turn this question round: “Do you really think it’s possible to get a job anywhere in the media (apart from, of course, GB News) or the public sector – civil service, education, healthcare, social care, the police and even the military – if you don’t spout woke, progressive, libtard, BLM, trans-adoring, CRT (Critical Race Theory), climate catastrophist, politically-correct nonsense 24 hours a day?”
After all, children get bullied out of school for claiming there are only two sexes, midwives are now being taught how to deliver babies from pregnant males, hospitals are no longer allowed to use words like ‘male’ and ‘female’, our armed forces are trying to ‘go green’, male rapists in high heels are being welcomed into female prisons, university students demand ‘safe spaces’ where nobody disagrees with their (usually pig-ignorant) opinions and have panic attacks every time they think they might have been ‘victims’ of a ‘micro-aggression’, offense warnings are being placed on some of the greatest works of art and literature, if you’re white you’re either a conscious racist or subconscious racist or both, the British police are about to follow the US police in considering any minor shoplifting (in the US minor means less than $1,000) as no longer being a criminal offence ……
I could go on. But there is so much lunacy destroying our once great country and civilisation, that there’s no room to list it all here.
Woke, yet barely awake, old man Biden saves the planet?
I wonder if any readers can spot a slight problem between the following two phenomena:
Phenomenon 1 – Increasing atmospheric CO2 is greening the Earth:
And this greening is one of the factors contributing to reducing levels of malnutrition:

Phenomenon 2 – Biden’s great plan to remove CO2 from the Earth’s atmosphere
On May 19th 2022 (just a couple of days ago), the US Department of Energy announced its great plan to invest $3.5bn to develop technologies to remove CO2 from the atmosphere:
Please note that the US Department of Energy calls the life-giving trace atmospheric gas CO2 – “carbon pollution”. I guess that the US Department of Energy must have forgotten that, were CO2 levels to fall below around 200 ppm (parts per million), then all life on Earth would die.
Below (in blue text) is the first part of the Department of Energy’s proud press release. The link to this announcement is:
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) today released a Notice of Intent (NOI) to fund the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law’s $3.5 billion program to capture and store carbon dioxide (CO2) pollution directly from the air. The Regional Direct Air Capture Hubs program will support four large-scale, regional direct air capture hubs that each comprise a network of carbon dioxide removal (CDR) projects to help address the impacts of climate change, creating good-paying jobs and prioritizing community engagement and environmental justice. In addition to efforts to deeply decarbonize the economy through methods like clean power, efficiency, and industrial innovation, the widespread deployment of direct air capture technologies and CO2 transport and storage infrastructure plays a significant role in delivering on President Biden’s goal of achieving an equitable transition to a net-zero economy by 2050.
“The UN’s latest climate report made clear that removing legacy carbon pollution from the air through direct air capture and safely storing it is an essential weapon in our fight against the climate crisis,” said U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer M. Granholm. “President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is funding new technologies that will not only make our carbon-free future a reality but will help position the U.S. as a net-zero leader while creating good-paying jobs for a transitioning clean energy workforce.”
It feels as if it should be 1 April. Before reading this I watched a video by Gad Saad talking about how the emphasis on diversity, inclusion and equality is not compatible with the scientific method. One comment said for years we have been told to follow the science and now we don’t know the difference between a man and a woman. Perhaps we need a 97% consensus to determine this. Then I read an email from the Coalition for Marriage about Swindon Council requirements for teaching 11 year olds about gender that effectively erases the difference between men and women. The result is double the average number of referrals to gender services in Swindon.
I don’t have any family and when I read this I am pleased that I don’t have children or grandchildren going through our education system at any level. I cannot imagine how I would feel if I was in education now, but what really scares me is that their brainwashing might have worked.
Why isn’t there a huge reaction against this from parents? Are they afraid to take on the schools? Where are the university graduates who are being taught physics, biology and evidence based medicine? I can only conclude that people with a science background are now so specialised that they don’t seem willing to challenge people they view as experts in other fields. But why don’t they see the problems that this nonsense is causing. Your book on climate drew attention to issues on energy supplies that should now be apparent to everybody, and surely as explained above they understand the importance of CO2 to life. Does it have to get to the stage where we short of energy and food before people wake up?
“Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I’m not sure about the former.” – Albert Einstein
The 19th-century German philosopher, Friedrich Nietzsche, not only predicted what is taking place now but he also predicted how it would end. Not in the end of the world. Here are two successive sections of his book “The Will to Power: Attempt at a Revaluation of All Values.”
37 – Spring/fall 1887
The development of pessimism into nihilism. – Denaturalisation of values. Scholasticism of values. Detached and idealistic values, instead of dominating and guiding action, turn against action and condemn it.
Opposites replace natural degrees and ranks. Hatred against the order of rank. Opposites suit a plebeian age because easier to comprehend.
The repudiated world versus an artificially-built “true, valuable one”. – Finally: one discovers of what material one has built the “true world”: and now all one has left is the repudiated world, and one adds this supreme disappointment to the reasons why it deserves to be repudiated.
At this point, nihilism is reached: all that one has left are the values that pass judgement [in modern terms, political correctness, identity politics and wokeness] – nothing else.
Here the problem of strength and weakness originates:
1. The weak perish of it;
2. those who are stronger destroy what does not perish;
3. those who are strongest overcome the values that pass judgement.
In sum this constitutes the tragic age.
38 – Recently much mischief has been done with an accidental and in every unsuitable word: everywhere “pessimism” is discussed and the question is debated whether pessimism or optimism is right, as if there must be answers to that.
One fails to see , although it could hardly be more obvious, that pessimism is not a problem but a symptom, that the name should be replaced by “nihilism”, that the question whether not-to-be is better than to be is itself a disease, a sign of decline, an idiosyncrasy [woke].
The nihilistic movement is merely the expression of physiological decadence [physiological degeneration].
