Should you, or anyone you know, be about to sell their home, they might find this article I wrote interesting and even useful: http://ezinearticles.com/?Selling-Your-Home?-Watch-Out-For-These-Estate-Agents-Tricks&id=3609693
And if you are either selling or buying a home, my experience is that one bunch you should be very careful with is the Countrywide Group. Countrywide claim to be “The UK’s largest and most successful estate agency and property services Group” and they seem to be based in the Cayman Islands – I wonder why. They own 47 estate agency chainsincluding: Austin & Wyatt, Faron Sutaria, Palmer Snell, Hamptons, John D Wood and many more. They will offer you all kinds of services like conveyancing, surveys, mortgage advice and much more. I’m not suggesting for a moment thatCountrywide would ever use any of the estate agents’ tricks I mention in my article. But in my limited experience, they doseem (I’ll put this politely) rather focused on “getting the sale” and cross-selling (making sure you buy their other services). For legal reasons, I will say no more.
