‘Cowards’ at the Taxpayers Alliance betray us all

The Taxpayers Alliance (TPA) is forever getting quoted in the press for its criticism of government waste. But when it comes to the biggest waste of all – the euro bailouts – the TPA is curiously silent. The euro bailouts are illegal under EU treaties which only allow financial help after a ‘natural disaster’. The TPA could have got together with other European taxpayers groups and launched an action at the European Court of Justice to block the bailouts. This could have saved us taxpayers over �500 billion.

So why has the TPA done nothing? Could it be that TPA bosses see their TPA jobs as a launchpad for a lucrative political career in a safe Tory seat? Maybe TPA bosses don’t want to upset Tory party leaders as this might jeapordise their own political ambitions? Maybe TPA bosses are a bunch of self-serving cowards, using suckers’ donations to line their own pockets and launch their own political careers? Who knows?
